Working as a business manager, Rainey is the third generation to work at Sweetwater EC&M. She has been employed with the family-run business for 20 years. Rainey is active with the Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Cornerstone Christian School board. In the past, she has served on several other boards including the West Texas Children’s Advocacy Center, the Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium and the Big Country Society for Human Resource Management. She served as treasurer for the West Texas Children’s Advocacy Center for years.
Rainey has a bachelor’s degree in human resource management and a master’s degree in organizational and human resource design from Abilene Christian University. She attended Sweetwater High School.
Kathryn Rainey and her husband, Ronnie, have lived near Lake Sweetwater and been Taylor Electric members for more than 17 years. She has two kids who both attend school in Trent. Rainey and her family are long-time members of 4th and Elm Church of Christ in Sweetwater.
